Speakers swapping sound

I am having trouble with my door speakers. As I drive along the sound swaps from the right to left unless i have it quite loud and then all is ok.
Has anyone else had this experience?

Not exactly the same but the sound from my front left passenger door speaker reduces from time to time ( all I can hear is the small tweeter ) and to get it back I just need to turn up the volume. It is strange and does not seem to be a dodgy connection as it works fine over bumps.

I had this trouble with the drivers door bass speaker....dealer found a loose connection at the rear of the speaker. Thumbs Up

Like Wavey said, doesn't seem to be a loose connection as it never goes whilst travelling over bumps etc. If anything it seems more voltage related (if I get "transmission reduced" I seem to get speaker problems). Just turn the volume up to correct then back down and it's all ok. Confused Confused

Same here. I've had a right saga over this over about the last two years. I got the garage to swap out an amp, and it didn't stop it. The symptom was the same - the sound would drop out of one or more of the door speakers. To rectify the problem all I have to to is turn the volume up and the dormant speaker kicks back into life. After about 8 trips to the dealer (Stratstone Nottingham) they changed one of the door speakers and it seemed to stop for a long time. It came back a few months ago. Censored it. I just tweak the volume when it happens now.

I would love to know what the problem is though.

cheers

I have had this problem for quite a while, have now proven if you tap the offending speaker it comes good, same deal if you turn the volume up, I'm sure I have read in the forum somewhere it is simply loose connection at the speakers. The dealer has had the car and did not come up with a solution, but too me its easy, solder the connections and the problem will be fixed.

This does look like a "global" problem, so I've set up a poll and a new thread in the Navigation, Entertainment and Electronics area. Hope it's OK with you guys to move this there.

I would be very interested to get your feedback. This issue bugs the Censored out of me.
