Battery charging

Hi guys I have a question for you all. Where the car gets parked it is on the side of the road not on a drive way unfortunately Sad. So for charging all the money pit gets is when it is running and the wife does like her short journeys. My question is as I can not charge it where it is. I thought about taking the main battery out and charging on the kitchen worktop. I have a smart charger which can cope with agm batteries. Is there any problem with taking the battery out of the car and doing this or am I just going to create a load of problems. The money pit is a 65 plate hse. I can probably guarantee this has been asked before but can I find it can I hell.

Many thanks for any thoughts. Apart from move to get a drive away that is

If it isn't causing any issues, just carry on as before.
If you're concerned about not starting, may be worth having one of those emergency starter packs like a Noco which can be kept in the car.

It isn’t causing any issues yet. I just don’t want it to and also don’t fancy getting a new battery yet. The battery is about 3 years old at the mo and and after a run the battery voltage is a little over 12V

Hi

Wonder if a suitable solar panel and a PWM controller for an AGM may be viable to help keeping it topped up, assume u also have a stop start battery

Plus 1 to the NOCO starter packs , recently got a GB50 myself for emergencies

Also found some details ref DC to DC chargers and VSR’s

It is a heavy battery to lump in and out of the car. That will get booring real quick.
My experience of the solar things is that in the UK you are Censored in the wind with them.

Thankyou all for the replies. I have a giant boost pack somewhere in the cupboard under the stairs. The solar thing I think also in the uk there will not be enough to keep it going unless the whole roof is a solar panel.
