Tie Rods & Ends, 3rd time in 30k miles?
Hi,
I think this post may be more of a vent than anything else. But I was at a self-service garage yesterday to fit winter wheels and figure out why my car is pulling left. Having changed 6 of the control arms and assessing front wheel wobble I diagnose the tie rods/ends. The thing is, I have replaced these twice already, and last time it was with Meyle HD rods/ends.
Is this just bad luck or do they get hammered even by on-road driving? My lower steering column is about due for replacement going by rattle over speed bumps. Have I accelerated tie rod demise by not changing this lower column earlier? (I had to mourn spending money on an aftermarket version before realising it was cr*p)
Cheers,
Andy

Personally I don't rate Meyle, and have had similar issues on a VW Passat using the HD range of parts.Richard
