Car shaking at 60-80MPH when accelerating

Hi all,

Had my tracking done and tyres balanced, however when I’m between the speeds of 60-80 the car shakes when the engine is engaged.

Is this the tyres being balanced incorrectly or is it something more serious?

Cheers,
Sol

Does it sound like you're going over a motorway rumble strip?

I would first check my wheel nuts and then pop back to the garage who did the work and ask them to check what they did.

With wheel balancing and tyres ruled out, check lug nuts or wheel bearings. Considering you've recently had the wheels off then lug nuts would be my 1st port of call as already suggested.

Prop shaft /prop shaft bearing? No experience of vibrations myself but have read on here that it can cause vibrations through the car (have a search on the forum). Good luck sorting.

I had similar issues when the centre bearing on the prop was on the way out and indeed found the UJ was partially seized when prop. changed
