Engine not starting…fuel issue? |
|
Hello all,
I recently replaced my air intake manifolds and after putting it all back together tried to fire it up.
Prior to doing so i bled the fuel through the shraeder valve until it ran through clear.
On cranking there is no indication of the fuel wanting to fire up and no smoke out of the exhaust, it just acts like a car that has run out of fuel.
Prior to all the work to change the manifolds there were no issues apart from the split manifolds the car ran and started fine.
I can only presume that i am not getting high pressure fuel to the injectors. Is there a way to test whether the fuel rails are getting hp fuel? And if they are not what could be preventing this?
Cheers., wpuld be nice to get this chappie started again!

I mentioned in your other post, guys don’t like it but have you tried abit of easy start down the air intake to get it going
I had similar issue when changing injectors
I’d bleed it and everything you’ve done twice then a friend of mine came round with a can of I shall not mm name stuff and made it start with it whilst connected with jump leads to his large van Metal auto sump & fluid change (3 hrs)
LR door puddle projectors (10 mins)
Tinted Bonnet wind deflector (10 mins)
All Intercooler pipes and Tbolts (2hrs)
3 injectors replaced so far (30mins)
Sunroof drain pipes both sides 2.5 hrs)
Rear discs, shoes, pads, callipers, flexi hoses, rigid brake line, n/s upper hub carrier bush and rear n/s upper arm (13hrs over 2 days)

Well that was an easier fix then i thought it would be.
I went over everything i had touched checking all electrical connectors then leak off pipe then high pressure pipes.
Being a muppet i had failed to tighten the high pressure pipe to the LH fuel rail!! So tightened and button pressed.
The car fired up before i knew it and runs smooth and evenly.
So for i have driven 200 kilometres since the work and the computer is showing 9.5l / 100km average. Better than before and i am very happy.
So, until the next thing!
