Hi all, just wondered if anyone else is having a problem with obtaining parts? My disco 3 is off the Road as I can't get land rover part 1354290 anywhere in the UK or the world. No one knows when they will get stock.

There is a problem with getting some parts, yes.
Rimmer Bros give a backorder date of 10th December.
John Craddock claim 'low stock' - normally this means they do have one, but I would ring them and check before ordering.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Try some breakers, or perhaps Oval Autos may have one from a scrap engine?06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

My Indy has resorted to getting custom made parts for some cars ... the shortage is not just a JLR thing by the looks of it.

Welcome to my world everyone.
I'm a Purchasing Manager in the aviation industry.
Only this morning an IC that was @£100ea last week with a 39wk lead time has gone out to £350ea and 90wks.
It's not simple to substitute another for it as the product would need requalifying for use on aircraft, which not only costs a silly amount, but takes months.
The same component we purchased early this year from stock at @£25ea.
It doesn't matter what commodity your involved in, the world supply chain is a mess at the moment.Heaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.
Back in the day I worked for Ferranti and one of our better project managers foresaw a scarcity/price-hike was about to hit us and ordered several years supply of an affected chip.
However, nobody told the bod in the purchasing/finance team that had a duty to limit the amount of money tied up in our in-house stocks ... who promptly sold them for a reasonable profit.
But then we had to buy back at an even higher price.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I have exhausted all tje suppliers and breakers and can't find this part which means my D3 is off the road until this part becomes available they is not even a time frame. I will have to buy a run around just to be able to go to work. Crazy situation.

Hi, Yes they haven't got one and don't know when they will be available. Lots of places including main dealers have them on back order.

Jaguar Land Rover dealers in the UK have reportedly been told by the British car-maker to use second-hand parts to fix vehicles in need of repair, due to lengthy delays for new components after it massively downsized its supply network.
According to UK magazine Autocar, Jaguar Land Rover – now known simply as JLR – downsized its UK parts supply network at the start of August from 18 warehouses across the country to one large centre known as Mercia Park, operated by Unipart Logistics.
