Injector sound proof pads - how to fit?!
I had the two soft pads missing from each side of my engine - they sit over the injectors I think. I managed to find some from a breakers but I can't for the life of me see where they fit in. There are two white studs on each side but I can't find the holes for them to fit into. Can anyone shed some light on how they clip on?

I figure anything to reduce noise is a good thing! I've found some photos of them in-situe on youtube but I can't see any stud holes that seem to correspond on mine. I'm wondering if there's a bracket that I'm missing as well. Also just learned that the main engine cover is supposed to have a padded liner too which I'm missing.

ah!! That would explain the lack of obvious mounting points for them. Do you know if the main engine cover should still have a padded liner?

I haven’t heard that got removed.
Probably rotted away to dust. Though there would be evidence

My main engine cover liner has almost rotted away to dust. Cleaning the last evidence out of all the nooks and crannies is next to impossible! Has anyone found a suitable replacement?Previously:

The 2 white plastic studs push onto the cable tray brackets.

The injector sound deadening pads when ordered new from Land Rover come with little metal brackets that the plastic press studs are located into. The metal brackets then just clip onto the side walls of the plastic cable loom trays that sit atop the injectors. Looks like the breakers yard didn't supply those and from what I can tell, they can't be ordered as a standalone part. (a trip back to the breakers yard maybe?)
Regarding the engine cover pad - I just bought some closed cell foil backed insulation foam from Clarke Rubber here in Australia and cut it to suit. I think the pads do make a difference so are worth having in place.
