Bonnet shaking with high winds and high speed

Hi All,

Is there a way to nip down the bonnet when I get past 70mph or when there’s high wind it seems the sides shake a bit is there a way to tighten those down the middle is fine.

Cheers,
Sol

It should be very solid when closed... are you sure it's properly closed?

there are adjustable rubber bits that can be screwed outwards to fill the gap and make it rigid.

It'll be a sticking bonnet catch. Common problem when they get gunked up.

make sure the latch is working both sides.

I finding slamming it helps. Then give the left and right sides a tug to ensure it's caught

Better to ungunk the latches…. Lots of CRC 5-56, let it soak a while, a baby toothbrush, etc.

While slamming is fun, I seem to recall that the manual explicitly cautioned against it Whistle Whistle

It’s at both sides so I assume I need to tighten it up and ungunk it, it’s not one side so maybe the latches need replacing all together, what do I use to tighten it I’m on holiday currently, is it a Phillips screwdriver?

You didn't overtake me on Saturday afternoon just south of Perth, going north on the A9, did you? Bronze D3 doing 70+ with the bonnet only held down by the catches? Shocked
