Oil level
Looking for some help as my D4 as shown three different oil levels which was checked when cold all above the half way mark, when into the dealership as still under extended warranty they topped the oil level up but it also required a fuel filter housing, they said the warranty didn’t cover this so I rang the warranty company and they paid for it, I am now in Italy I checked the oil level cold this morning 3/4 full have driven to lake Garda left the car two hours on level ground rechecked it’s showing full ,( wish I had a dip stick) is this the start of a faulty sensor? any advice is much appreciated I don’t want to over fill with oil

As long as the level is not showing low, don't add any, it will not add any benefit. It's not the oil level that lubricates the engine, as long as the oil pump can suck upp oil from the sump it will keep the engine lubricated to the same degree, independent of the oil level being 1/4 or full.Defender 110 SE 2021, Tasman Blue

Thank you for the reply, I was not going to had any until it did read below half way, I will keep checking until we get home and speak again with the dealership and warranty company

With this in mind, the D4 doesn't hold that much oil for a 3.0 V6.
Oil lubricates, but also has a cooling effect.
Having low oil and not upto level isn't best practice.
As always, personal choice.

I agree but a little less is better then to much, I will ring the dealership and warranty company and let them make the decision, surly that will cover me

Below is from the D4 owners manual and specifically instructs to not add any oil unless the message says so.
To keep topping up to always try to be at maximum is at least not the recommended practice on a D4.
Some oil consumption during long distance driving is not alarming, but it's good to learn what is normal for your vehicle so you can notice any new behaviour/leak early.

If the oil level is within the required operating
range, the message Engine Oil Level OK will
be displayed. Do not add any additional oil to
the engine.
If the oil level is below the required operating
range, a message advising you how much oil to
add will be displayed (e.g. Add 0.5 Litre). Add
the recommended quantity of oil.

displayed, seek qualified assistance
immediately. Do not drive the vehicle as this
will cause serious damage to the engine.

FWIW ... I think the "wait 10 minutes" should be at least double that..

Oil expands when hot as does all liquids, the bigger the quantity the more it expands by volume, take coolant for instance it has an expansion tank.
