JLR SDD and BCM issue

Hi All

I used first time SDD v164 on my LR4 with VCM II. I can connect and read all the information. I cleared all the previous errors and no new errors coming so far.

I was hoping to use/see CCF and got the passcode for it using VIN and Seed from a website. but seems like my BCM is not responding. As per the diagram below, the configuration source is PCM and not BCM. and when I go to CCF editor, everything is grayed out.

No errors are there for BCM etc and have done some R&D as well but unable to find a answer/solution.

Any assistance would be really appreciated. and TIA

I'm interested, since my dad's 2006 L319 does the same. Communication error with BCM. Haven't yet got time to investigate it, but eventually I will need to edit the CCF in this car so will follow this thread.

To edit the ccf go to service functions and scroll down to current car configuration and run it. You will need to activate engineer mode if you want to change more than a few basic settings (there is a tick box at bottom left of editing page to show all parameters) Make sure you fully charge the battery and use a good 30 amp or more power supply.

The red X means the ccf is not backed up in the BCM. When you choose initial source try IPC if available or PCM if the BCM does not update after you make any changes. Wear brown trousers because it gets a bit spooky when thing start turning on and off doors locking and warning lights beepers going off.

The issue happens after this all is done. Of all ECUs in the car the BCM acts weird, does not react - although apparently it works. Every action involving BCM fails with "no communication", even the reinstall procedure. I guess I may have to do something with the wiring.

Are you using a genuine VCM with up to date software, or a clone device with hacked software?
