125k miles - the electrical gremlins have started!

Hi All,

Firstly have been having issues with central locking. Process of elimination tells me this is drivers door actuator or mechanism. Work-around, leave drivers window open a little, reach in, press lock lever and then press and hold window to close.

Then... Last week, started getting very strange behavior with the infotainment:
- DAB flips between no signal and other stations (you cannot press DAB to re-select a station)
- Bluetooth cycles between disconnected and pairing with my phone
- No audio is heard but every few seconds a hiss from speakers
- When it is doing this, you can't interact with the system or change function (FM-DAB-TV-AUX), its just unresponsive
- Reversing camera turns off for a few seconds, then back on, then off... (when reversing)

Tried disconnecting the battery over the weekend and following the hard reset (short the connections) to no avail.

Battery is coming up 5 years old now.

Anyone else seen this?

Cheers Thumbs Up
 Luke

Hi Luke Smile)
Not seen this specifically, but in general when I HAVE seen an onset of multiple-but-non-crippling malfunctions it's when a unit (ECU ?) on a bus starts to malfunction, interferes with communication between other WORKING items (ECUs ?) on the same bus, which can lead to widespread and often spurious symptoms.
Can be quite depressing, makes you think there's BIG trouble brewing somewhere !!!
Since your FIRST signs of trouble were from central locking, maybe try pulling fuse(s) for that function and see if the infotainment services settle down ?
Furthermore and at risk of me getting reputation of being OBSESSED - I'd say check your front footwells for water, if you can feel water or even damp beneath all the foam padding then search this forum for advice, you'll find MANY comments !!
Good luck Smile))

In addition I would advise check your battery, which at 5 years may be on the way out. These cars can give a lot of spurious errors/issues when that happens.
Good luck getting sorted.

Thanks for the quick responses. I did have a leaky sunroof drain (drivers side) earlier in the year which I managed to replace and dry out the damp carpet.

No dampness elsewhere and am hoping passenger side isn't offending as this is more of a pig I believe.

Battery replacement might be a good shout also
