Tdv6 MY06 oil pump question, not the norm! |
|
Hi guys n girls, Really sorry this is my first first, I tried to post in the welcome area but for reason my phone wouldn't do it!
Basically I have a 2006 tdv6 that's just about to touch 200,000 miles, it's been very well looked after over it's life and (touch wood) it seems to be one of the reliable ones (if there's such a thing!)
I'm doing the timing belt and oil pump as I know for sure it's got the AC pump currently installed, and the history shows both belts being done at 105,000 miles so it's time for them to be done too.
I have bought the FOMOCO pump from JGS4x4 AE code BUT...I've seen someone on the disco3 FB page and someone on this forum mention the new AE oil pump didn't fit their 2006 after taking off the AC code pump as the design around the crank is totally different.
Is this true? Every pump I have seen states it fits across the whole range of years regardless of years, I just don't want to get right into the job and find mines one of those that it won't work on.
Hope that all makes sense, and sorry again for this being my first post and it being an essay! forgive me!
Thanks, Brad ✌🏻

The only pumps that are different are the later oil pumps fitted to the gen 2 engine, the pump you have will fit perfectly.
LR time on youtube does a good video on the pumps. Andrew
