Today's Land Rover Experience |
|
Went to the one down near Ashford and found it very informative and enjoyable.
Amazing to see what these cars can do and all on the standard road tyres as well. Conditions were wet and the slopes, that looked about 45 degrees or so, were very muddy and wet clay.
The traction was brilliant and it was a great buzz to get the car up and down the slopes. Even more amazing was that the off road electronic gubbins had packed up so this was all done bare back, so to speak. The instructor had said that in very cloying clay conditions the muck gets into the sensors and that we might experience the odd warning light but he had never experienced the whole system packing up. I was happy as it was good to know that these vehicles still perform without electronic aids.
Wonder how much cheaper the car would have been without the off road traction system?
