D3 v Range rover v8diesel
Hi guys just thinking about changing my 3rd d3 for a range rover v8 diesel Had a drive today very power full but some how did not feel the same Why? your opinion would be appreciated

Anyone driven FFRR or RRS TDV8 that has driven a Torq Tuned or Turbo Chipped TDV6 and could say how they compare???

Was it with dynamic response? The very latest TDV8 has this so less body roll. The first TDV8 FFRR are a bit more soft in the bends the Vogue SE is 8)DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

I have a FFRR TDV8 loaner whilst the Red 110 is in dry dock nearly 4 weeks now
Anyway I have done loads of miles in it.... and No I don't want one although it is some what more refined than the 110 I would not want to replace my D3 with one.
This weekend just gone we took a load of clients 4x4ing up to the Boughrood track. We gave them the choice of a 110, D3 and a FFRR to drive round in. The FFRR was the vehicle that no one wanted to sit in In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

When my 90 was off the road LRCC lent me a V8 FFRR, whilst I had it I followed my JE tuned D3 to the local garage being driven by the mechanic, purely for research I told him to give my D3 the beans, and I could not keep up with it, the FFRR is not as stable through the bends and is a bit slower to pick up in the standard tune, that said for cruising Autobahn wise the FFRR would get it on the fact it will do 15 mph more! On a day to day vehicle no question, the D3 D4 HSE Luxury SDV6,

When you pay £70k+ for your Vogue SE TDV8... quite naturally something that you wouldn't contemplate doing very often is taking it off the road. Having driven one on several occasions I felt that the level of quality was very high, the TDV8 when pushed was punchy ..but rattley sounding in general. The ride quality seemed more wallowy.
Overall though IMO ...the D3 is the ultimate all-rounder in terms of space and practicality. I'm also happy to take it off the road and it has what I believe to be the most refined engine in the LR range.
If you gave me a FFRR though...... 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Not a good plan, you might scratch the FFRR & blood is not easy to get out of the carpet!!!

Don't the FFRRs still have that separate window-frame/door-body arrangement (rather than one piece) like the old D2 - where the frame could wobble after a while. Maybe I'm weird, but it's that for me (and other things) that still makes me feel like the whole thing's just an outdated machine... (granted with a nice engine).2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +
