De-register GAP tool.
Afternoon folks,
Can anyone tell me how I go about deactivating my GAP tool account. I have sold the car and so no longer need it. I want it to be ready for a new buyer to set up. Thanks in advance.
Some mistakes are to good to only make once.

It will be done automatically when the new owner registers it with GAP.It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

When I bought it this wasn't the case. I couldn't use it as the seller was still registered as the owner. It took me weeks to sort it. is there anyone I could email at GAP.Some mistakes are to good to only make once.

Hi,
have you looked at their website and FAQ,
ISTR only if the owner has locked it with a password (have you) this needs to be removed, if so then contact Pat first by email to remove this, otherwise as said when new owner buys the change of ownership
thats what happened with mine, a very simple service it was as well
can not remember the wording but may be worth Un-linking, Disconnecting, un-binding (something like that) from your disco.

De register and re registering tool from olf vehicle to new
I recently had to scrap my D3 and had a GAP tool registered to it. How do i deregister the tool from that vehicle and register it to my newer D4? I have emailed Gap but had no reply.
Cheers
Glen

Dont forget the time difference from us to canada.
It costs £80 to add another car but not sure about transfer to another car. They are usually very good at getting back to you. 1996 Defender -died (now in landrover heaven😇)chassis to ashes , rust to dust !
2004 Defender td5 gone
2012 Evoque gone
2007 D3 V8 HSE

I got no response when I tried! Previously:
2010 FL2 TD4e GS
‘93 Defender 110 200TDi CSW - still got this, non-runner on SORN.
‘87 Defender 90 4 cyl Petrol
‘83 110 CSW V8 - best ever!
Range Rover 2-door V8 (not sure of year - 4-speed box and vacuum diff switch)
Series III SWB Diesel

Hi,
super quick reply when I had questions,
ISTR you just need to ADD your new D4 to your current IID details, not sure if its more or less than a change of owner but a straight forward action

Yes, very simple to add a new vehicle, just the £80 fee! My problem was that I must have double-clicked and I ended up with two new codes for additional vehicles and two £80 charges on my credit card - tried to contact them for a refund (they'll surely be able to verify that one code wasn't used?) but never got a response. So adding the D3 cost me £160!Previously:
