parking brake refitting problems
Hi guys
So update from my last question/post
I have changed the brake shoes on my D3 2.7
Using bodsys excellent bible
And what a bloody knuckles torn nails.
Anyway all seem good but for the love of me i cant
Get the new disc on i got the holes on the studs but it just
Won't seat in two flippin hours trying anyone had this
Anyone got a solution.
Its like the face of the shoe is to think.
Do i take the shoes again off again and bench
Grind.
It seems a bit extreme
Will try anything at this point

Do the shoes need moving left or right
Or up or down.
Or the adjuster. Adjusting ?
There is also an Allen key that needs loosening half a turn

I find that Mintex shoes dont come assembled right the spring should be between the shoe and the wedge and the wedge should be pushed back down as far as it will go against the shoe, if its not the shoes will be two big to get the disc back on.
Also have you put the EPB into service mode? This gives the cables some extra length and makes sure they are not pulling the brakes on slightly.Andrew
