My 2006 TDV6 S
Hi all, despite more cars and forums than I'd like to admit I've never done one of these threads before. Now seems as good a time as any! I've had a D1 and D2 before so have some idea of what I'm letting myself in for.
This is my new to me 2006 TDV6 S Auto, purchased from its previous owner via the classifieds here. The owner before that was also on the forum I believe.
It's clearly been well cared for with plenty of reciepts, it seems if it's needed work it's had it done and is according to the MOT tester a good one. I had a very specific spec in mind and had intended to look at the end of march but I found this on here which was exactly what I wanted with the important work done so a deal was done. Had a very nice experience buying and driving it home, quite surprised how far they have come on from the D2. We have a family car that swmbo has as hers. This is for me to commute, use for weekend outings and hopefully go on the odd guided green lane day.
Work Completed
Bought GAP IID BT
Fixed door lock
Re-tangoed side repeaters
Passed MOT
Air con bomb & new carbon cabin filter
4x Michelin Latitude Cross 255/60R18 112V, replaced space saver with full size spare.
Work Planned
'Detail' including re greasing hinges etc
Rear brake pipes (MOT advisory)
Nearside front wheel bearing (ordered)
New rear discs, pads and epb shoes (ordered)
Clean FBH as it's not starting
ARB bush shims to hopefully solve a knock
Service (filters + oils etc ordered)
Inspect sills and arches, clean and protect
New drivers seat foam

Looks really nice. Regular preventative maintenance will keep it running nicely Im sure. This site is a great resource for any issues you may have. Good luck with it

Thanks, I'm really pleased with it. Had been missing my old D2 for a while, it's good to be back!
I'll get some more pictures when I've had time to give it a proper clean but it's definitely a credit to its previous owners.

The HSE's etc are obviously lovely but I particularly wanted more toward the no frills end of the range. My old D2 ES Premium had numerous niggles with electric seats etc, I really wanted something that was a bit more utility rather than upmarket though being an S it obviously still has some nice to haves. With the new tyres and a correction to the suspension calibration I'm really taken by how well it rides. I keep taking the disco out over the new Fiesta ST that I still have for the next month or so!
