D4 gearshift slipping out of Drive.
I am finding more and more that my gearstick slips out of drive with the inevitable increase in engine revs. Is this something that can be adjusted or does it indicate worn parts that require replacement.
Any advice welcome.

It'll most likely be the connecting lever between the bottom of the gear stick and the gearbox. Mine has been doing this too, it just needs the connecting arm replaced and its bearing - parts about £30 delivered. There's a how-to guide on here somewhere if you search stuff gearstick or similar. PowerfulUK also did a video on it. Job shouldn't be more than an hour tops.
In the meantime a good coat of WD40 on the lever should get you going. It's accessible under the car no problem.2022 BMW i4 M50. Bought Oct 2022. 10,200 miles and counting...
