Now mine stolen ☹️
Well I never thought it would happen to me but last night around my D4 was taken from the driveway with minimum fuss
I was up at 6:15 for the gym, noticed it was gone and checked Altox where it showed it had been disconnected at around 1:25am at the local Village Hotel

A quick drive down there didn't bring any results but I hope they have some decent CCTV of what happened next. The police have no resource to investigate - 999 passed me onto 101 service and promptly got a crime ref and sorry no evidence email.
Such a shame as only had it its first wash of the year on Saturday

Have you placed it on the LandRover stolen pages on FB?
They seem to have the odd success in spreading the news/vehicle details if they get parked up.
Sorry to hear this though...Jim

Can I ask what security you had on it please? Always looking to make mine more secure/less stealable
As it happens, last night I'd just read the thread about D5 theft where insurance wanted data download to prove/disprove it was locked, then headed for bed.
Halfway up the stairs realised I'd left the D4 on the road so the lad could park nearest the house ... PITA, but D4 moved to drive then SWMBO'S Antara dumped behind it. Realise they're still going to take it if very determined, just making it a less easy target..

Gents,
Unfortunately the technology is moving fast and they are now attacking stop start technology either via the obd port or gaining access to the canbus wiring via removing components or cutting through the bodywork.. an emulator is then attached which sends signals to open doors and start the engine..
Hence the old fashioned advice of steering wheel locks, additional alarm and external (non oem) immobilisers..
Re steering wheel lock , although they are a total Pita, ones that fit over the steering wheel complete…the bar type ones I have seen removed via cutting through the steering wheel and sliding off..
Immobilisers the best one currently is the Ghost 2…
The obd is easily protected via a dummy obd loom which plugs between the socket and original loom…
Or buy a Volvo…

Sorry to hear of this.
1.28AM..... the very same time they attempted mine. Maybe the same crew?
all who are reading this..... please remove your OBD. its simple - takes minutes.
Yes they can go the canbus route but OBD is still favourite. Just make sure it isn't there when they come looking.
It the easiest car to steal for sure and most give up and go to the next on the list the moment it becomes difficult.A mod a week until I have nothing to improve or add.

Good advice
What is truly galling is I have a isolation switch for the ODB port and left it on after the last service - otherwise it would probably still be sat there with just a broken window

See above + the Altox tracker which looks like they took battery out / disconnected it within minutes of stealing it
So as s60r says - ODB isolation (and isolate!!) and disklock would be my goto when I get another one - maybe also an apple tag or decent tracker somewhere hidden / own power sourceStolen - D4 Loire Blue
D4 Bali Blue
