Front to Back Brake Pipe Replacement
My D3 failed it's MOT due to the "main brake pipe that runs front to back" being corroded. The garage is telling me it's a day and a half to replace, is this right?
Is it not something I can do at home with the car up on ramps (the drive on type rather than a lift)? I don't suppose anyone knows if it's possible to buy a pre-made one rather than make my own, I can't seem to find one online.

If it’s only the rear end that is rusty people put joins at the back.
You need a flaring tool
Not very fun in winter. (Well at any time)

can be joined, usually under the heat shield passenger side, below rear door or thereabouts, look for a good section of the original steel pipe, cut and flare using a good quality tool and marge a new section in and bleed brakes. A decent indie should know this and it shouldn't be a massive job, pipe and fittings are pennies its the time, I also bought the pre made pipes and new flexis that go across the rear lower arms, have a look here for parts -
