New project
So the Tonga arrived this afternoon. Abs and multiple errors for vehicle dynamics, suspension and special programmes inactive as well as epb fault. First job was check the abs issue, found the usual wire had previously been repaired, and failed again! Repaired that and also a corroded can wire. Short lived celebration as the fruits are all still there! I suspect there are more damaged wires in that area.

Update
So we have been using the car for the past few months and all ok. Have now invested in some 255 55 19 duratracs, 30mm spacers and some other bits. Managed to replace the osf wheel bearing assembly this afternoon, had had one before as the bolts had been copper greased and it came out easily. Just waiting on a new torque wrench to do the shaft nut up properly.

Few mods made. Mot passed after a few repairs prior to taking it. Namely a wheel bearing on the front. Updated xenon bulbs fitted after one failed. Massive improvement.

Do you think there may be a correlation between the spacers and the wheel bearing failure?
Out of morbid curiosity, why did you fit the spacers - and did you get the geometry checked/adjusted afterwards? it won't lessen the excess load on the wheel bearings but it might reduce the tyre wear.

Nope, he slight ply before. Doubt they will affect bearings. Not had geometry rechecked as I need to fit the genuine lower column in place of the appalling quality advanced factors one. Gives a more planted feel on the road.

Strange, I did over 150,000 miles in my Discovery on a mix of road, AT & off-road tyres from the Arctic to Africa, never felt the roadholding was 'un-planted' nor did I ever think that spacers were needed, save for the times when I had to fit snow chains.
Still, if that's your choice, crack on.
