i had fitted by stealer the multi height tow bar (as I had a proper multi height tow bar on last D2 pull pin out move to new height put pin back in) being a miserable sod I ordered dixon bates ball and pin ovet internet . Removed the ball to fit new ball and pin and thought it should go up a bit ! thought it strange that only one normal set of holes erg not counter sunk.
went ahead and putin middle hole. Got my Ivor Willams trailer back from hire and the ball and pin still to low sothought would just turn plate around!! holes dont line up !!!
How do iget y trailer to run level give i have a multi height tow bar.

According to the fitting instructions, the ball & pin can only be fitted at the 450mm height
It appears to fit without the three-holed dropper plate, and to bolt through the holes above the ones the side stays bolt to (I realise that description probably won't help!)
DaveLong succession of Disco's since 2001...
SIII Lightweight - neglected & rusting. Bulkhead, A panels, vent panel & outriggers now disintegrated - Next years project!
I agree with Dave, but It does seem very muti height to me for a ball and pin. I seem to remember a recall ? on these and a redesign of the plate, maybe this had something to do with it.

Has anyone ever fitted the short pin and slider on to this tow bar (like my old D2)

RLD's your man for that job! Sure he will be along soon. I did a mod myself to use the Dixon Bate sliding plate by chopping the fixed mount off below the 1st row of holes and fixing the top of the slider to the recovery ring between the lighting sockets.. Not sure of the implications of mod's like this though.. Ray I'm sure could provide you with some heavy engineering to solve the problem!!

Tried boating in the snow a few years ago, turned out that while very pretty, not much fun due to not being able to stand up once teh boat started moving around even slightly, a bit hair raising taking the lines an fenders in and then puting them back out. end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......

I'm desperately going to be in need of a slider on my multi height, sometimes adjust hitch height on D2 up to 3 times a day. From what i understand these mods are not EC or Type approved? This means in an accident involving towing the tow equipment could be blamed, no insurance. I hope LR come up with a solution but not enough demand apparently
P.S Should get my new D3 Comm by wk end!!! 11 RR 4.4 TDV8
15 D4 Comm SDV6
58 RR 3.6 TDV8 (Gone)
12 D4 Comm SDV6 (Gone)
