Battery - low warning when connecting IID

So when connecting scanner I get low battery warning after about 5 mins despite the voltage around 12.3. When running car charges fine at 14.7 volts …. Car starts / cranks just fine.

Question is why would I potentially get issues with systems if battery was on its way out when the car running is giving it 14.7 volts??

14.7v is the charging rate, not the battery condition, 12.3v = a flat battery if you are not getting problems now you very soon will do if you don’t rectify it, charge the battery with a smart charger or get a new battery before you are let down, do not attempt to make any changes with the Iid tool until you have done so, by the Iid tool giving you this information it has gone a long way towards its initial cost and saved you the cost of an imminent breakdown. Thumbs Up
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Because lot of the routines set ignition on/off automatically and so are executed while motor not running, and a weak battery could fail during routine.
