Front Drops overnight - Only when Fuse is installed. |
|
Hi All, next job to sort out. I pulled the fuse and left the vehicle for 3 days with suspension on high setting and it has not dropped, however when the fuse is left in overnight the front drops. I am guessing this could be a valve block issue ?
Tia.

Well it means the computer is making it drop, rather than a leak.
Why does the computer make it drop? Maybe a minor level sensor problem. Head ache to track down.
Could try calibrating suspension

Still not got to the bottom of this, however I have noticed the disco drops on all four corners now, If I remove the fuse it does not drop.
I happened to be walking past it this morning about an hour after I had dropped the kids off to school and noticed a clicking noise at the rear and the whole car dropped right down in front of me.. So it must be an electronic fault that is causing this, however I am guessing

Wonder if one or more height sensors are going bad and thus sending bad data to the control module. The vehicle will self level 2 hours after turned off and again every 6 hours until it’s on bump stops —however long that takes. Mine very oddly self levels once I exit the vehicle and close the driver door, which I’ve never understood.
Are you able to read live data using GAP IID tool or similar? I’d start with looking at the output voltages/signals from the height sensors while parked. 2008 LR3 HSE, 4.4L V8

If you can hear the valve block(s) clicking, then it is being commanded to level down, it won't be a valve block fault. As above, check actual values from the height sensors and check they can articulate properly, also read the values as you move from access to offroad and back again.

Mine does this too. I figure it’s because I (not being a small example of the human race) have just left my seat, alleviated some load from the vehicle, and the suspension on the drivers side has risen enough to trigger a fresh self level while it’s still awake, as it’s always that side that subsequently drops to level itself again.
Mine also sinks only with the fuse in, though also only if left in normal or access height with the front going down first. And rapidly too, 15 mins in the shop and the front has dropped considerably.
If I park in off-road height or pull the fuse, it stays up for at least 6 days before looking a little low (only a very small drop, noticed by clearance to the lean-to I park half under, which is tight in off road height) at the rear.
I’m sure it would sink further if left longer but I don’t like to leave it sitting. It’s on original struts (stickered 2004) at 170k and feels a little wayward during “enthusiastic” cornering, so probably due a renewal… D3 HSE - MY05 - Java black
