i believe the d4 is timed and the d3 is not obviously the d3 would be easier to replace a broken belt and i think they both do a bit of damage if they snap but mostly to the cover and anything that's attached to it could be wrong though please excuse any grammer/punctuation mistakes,i'm thick,thankyou
