Hi all
Is there any way to force the fbh to start up, without using an expensive iid or plugin?
I see on a freelander 2, a person forced it to start by connecting the red and grey wore from the fbh to the battery positive
I’m wondering can I do this?
Just got a used fbh from eBay to put in as mine has a corroded fuel cup. And wanting to try and get it going.
I have also used my autel ap200 to view the AHCM and can see some info such as run time and that there are no codes. But I can’t activate or edit anything.
If a fbh is locked out, is it a simple case of clear the codes? Or is there more to it?
Hopefully I can force start it a cheap way and see if it works or gives clues to what’s next step.
Also thinking I might use my oil pump tool to try and draw fuel out the line too so i can see the line is ok… is this a wise idea?
Please and thanks as always! Disco 3 SE Manual 2005 V6 2.7

Webasto oval timer, they just work, retain a decent chunk of their value when sold on.

For information purposes only, Webasto offer hot air or coolant heating systems for trucks, similar to how the FBH works.
The first will act as a 'night heater', the second is best described as only for pre heating the engine.
Your battery will not last a couple of hours if you use the FBH for heat throughout the night, and be expensive in fuel as well.
In Scandinavian countries they use both a running engine and the Webasto when it gets very cold, as only the two together can keep everything warm, it is not meant for 'night heating'.

Hi,
as Martin says ^ have a look through the wiki
and the "Search" button should give you lots of reading as its been covered/asked a number of times.
ISTR very recent in the FBH section?
I used Webasto software on my laptop and started the FBH on my D3 when I bought it a few months back,
hopefully it will be starting on its own when needed

Thanks and I have had a read
Seems the cheapest option to start it is too hard to achieve by DIY
I’ve got a gap iid coming tomorrow and hoping I can use it to start the fbh
Thanks again all Disco 3 SE Manual 2005 V6 2.7
