Heated Windscreen Wire Colours
Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if you could shed some light on wire colours for the heated windscreen, because I cant get it working.
So, I've got a standard D3 which didn't have a heated windscreen. I managed to get a heated one via the insurance company and thought id retro fit it into my car.
I've got a new HVAC panel with the correct button, I've installed a brand new genuine 70A relay, fuses 15 & 18 are also installed.....
So everything in theory is good to go! however, if I look at the drivers side wires behind the a-pillar, I've got the black wire connected to the top windscreen connector, the brown wire is connected to the bottom windscreen connector.
The passenger side is the opposite!??? brown wire at the top, black wire at the bottom????
I don't get it, is this correct? id have thought they would match!?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Rory

Have you updated the CCF file to show heated windscreen is fitted?

I don’t think it really matters.
You will need the engine running for it to work

Car Configuration File
You will probably need an IID Tool to amend the CCF, an Autel might do it but I don't know if it will.Uncle Ray's spare wheel protector
Limo Tint
Blackvue front & rear dashcam
Cruise control switch pack
Bodsy's remote for FBH

Hi Rory,
What Ianm said ^^^
If the car doesn’t know it has a heated windscreen fitted then it won’t work!
