Front Fog Light Bulb Upgrade

Has anyone upgraded the front halogen fog lamps to led bulbs for greater light output. Ideally looking for brighter and whiter led bulb recommendations for a Discovery 4 facelift.

I am presuming the mounts with your Disco 4 facelift and still in fact disco 4 fog light mounts? - if so then Stedi do the best LED fog lights in terms of beam spread and qulaity light - i think it is the type C but do check that. Also they back up the lights even a year down the line as i have had a replacement bezel on one of my front Type X's where the paint bubbled so I trust them, not to mention their quality.

Back to your question, if its a disco 3 mount underneath still then you can't get any decent led replacement units as far as i can see so you could do what i did which is get some LED fog lights from Powerful UK and custom make them fit, otherwise go for the Stedi option if mounts are for a D4 as suggested above. I have put some pictures below to show how the ones i brought had to be mounted and how they looked/fitted. I have to cut the mounts off the light unit and glue the light into a ring/plate and then bond this into the hole with two blobs of silicon. - its easy to take out and put back in again with 2 blobs of silicon.

In answer to the original question; yes I have with good results and I have fitted a relay so that they come on automatically with the main beam to give better light than the poor main beam on a D4 facelift, the beam spread is good but I would really like some spotlight reflectors to give more range to make them as good as the D3.
The LED bulbs you choose must be of the short stumpy back design or you will not get them in because of the washer bottle on the passenger side.
Sorry I can’t be more specific as it’s 5 years ago when I fitted them and they are still working good.
A simple upgrade is to fit higher wattage halogen bulbs the same as in the halogen spots on the D3. ISTR D3 spots are 60watts and fog are 40watt Thumbs Up
I have also fitted active cornering lamps to the facelift D4 with LED bulbs.
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Thanks for the detailed response. Fog lamp mounts are a standard 2015 4.5 bumper. Are the stedi leds plug and play?

There's a choice of LED fog lights on PFUK..

https://www.powerfuluk.com/vehicles/land-r...ights.html

All should fit your model as the change was cosmetic with the shape of the surround changing not the light...
