Brake pad recommendations
Phoned the local stealer today and they want about £160 for a set of front brake pads.
Does anyone know who makes the pads or can recommend a good quality alternative?
I’ve always thought Brembo were good and are half the price, the dealers say they use Delphi but not had much experience of those

I’ve got Brembo pads and discs all round on my FFRR at the moment. No complaints and can’t say that I can feel any difference compared to oe.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Look at site sponsors web site advancedfactors,co,uk They have got all the best stuff you want next day delivery, I use Borge and Beck OEM better IMHO than Brembo It can when others can't,

Yes had a look on AF website. Do we get a discount these days.
I was put off by putting non genuine parts on years ago and them squealing like hell. Can’t remember the make though

That’s interesting. If B and B are original that’s what I’ll go for.
Am planning to do a 2000 mile trip round Switzerland so need something good quality and reliable for all those mountain passes!

I was told by my mechanic that he avoids fitting Brembo pads as customers have complained they squeal too much. He puts it down to higher ceramic content in the braking material. He also said that original Land Rover brake pads are actually made by Ferodo. Which is interesting as a previous poster said it’s Borg & Beck.
I’m currently using Delphi. And I can say they are much better than the Brembo pads I had on previously.

TRW do a ceramic based, low dust compound for not much more than a standard brake pad

Delphi all the time, very reasonably priced and never had a problem. Just replaced, myself, rear discs and pads, both Delphi. £140 from local motor factors.👍
