Baby Seat Fitting problems |
|
First trip out with the little 'un yesterday and had a bloody nightmare trying to secure the baby seat. Problem being the seatbelts in the back do not extend out until they are fed all the way back in to the reel, so as you pull the belt to wrap it around the baby seat, the slightest movement of the belt back into the reel prevents it extending again until it's wound right back in. This is a major PITA, anyone know way of safely modifying the reel to stop it doing this?
(The seat we have isn't compatible with ISOFIX by the way) 2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

Had same issues here, I now extend the belt all the way, secure the diagonal strap to the seat "eyelet", reach over plug it in then retract the excess. Knowledge & Reason - the arch enemy of faith

Me too. At first thought there was problem with the belt, then I read the instructions. But I thought it only did the "retract only" trick if you have first fully unwound it

No-nails, works wonders. Brute force and ignorance, the D3 does the rest.
