Smart roofbox NC500 Thumbs Up

The genuine Land Rover one is a nice piece of kit.

I picked mine up on eBay from a D4 owner for the Freelander. They said they didn't need it anymore since they got the Disco. I've not used it on my Disco yet but used it loads of times on my F2.

It has the screw operated 'claws' so it's a doddle to secure.

Also had a Halfords' Exodus when I had my F1. I think they're made by Thule??? That was also very good but more difficult to fit as it had U-bolt type fittings instead of the grip claw arrangement.

Hi,

Old school Land Rover branded roof boxes plus the Thule roof bars look good on the D3/4/5.
(Plus some snow.)

Yes, very smart roofbox NC500. I guess you had it painted? We’re off to Normandy at the end of the month and just bought a paddle board, so I think I’ll need to invest in a roof box too. The Thule wing bar evo roof bars get a good write up so I think I’ll go for those along with the Motion XT box size large.

When I did my research on this topic some years ago, the forum pointed me towards the brand Kamei. German made and amazing quality with some great features. The one I have has the T-Bar locking feature and therefore is very easy on and off without the need for tools. I purchased mine from roofbox.co.uk

Haven't had it up on the roof yet as it's too hot but the thing is HUGE! When I collected it i chucked it in the back, with the rear seats down and tight up against the front passenger seat pushed all the way forward I still had to leave the rear hatch open. Also, as a plus it leaves room beside for a bike rack or other

I like the idea that it locks into the T-track, should be more secure.

Have a look around, there are bargains to be had Very Happy

Looking good.

Drove over to Normandy today with our new bars (Thule wing bar evo) and box (Thule motion xt size large) in place, which swallowed up four holdalls, blankets, various sports items, making the cabin a much better place to be.
