Rear seat release cable replacement
I have searched and can't find anything on fixing the rear seat release.
Does anyone have experience of stripping down the rear seats to fix a broken release?

No longer needed.
I managed to strip the seat what is actually not difficult, I then as didn't have the official LR part used a bike brake cable and fed it through the LR cable housing and then used a cable clamp to hold it in place on the release.
Works good as new and cost less £2 to fix.

I’d appreciate some guidance on stripping the seat down, as I need to fix the centre back rear, as the release catch is extremely stiff to operate. Cheers.

No issues,
I don't have photos so hopefully the write-up will do the job.
Step one, don't have child lock on like I did or you are climbing through the car to escape.
Step two, pull the carpet off the back of the seat, it's nice and robust so don't be to gentile.
Step three, remove headrest (it has a little hidden button to fully remove it on the opposite side to the main adjuster. Undo the screw on the release slider guide and pull the handle off.
Step four, start to pull the leather off the outside of the seat, the plastic rim pulls out and folds over on its self.
Step five, pull the leather and padding to the side at the top, the headrest brackets have a little push clip on them on the front that you need to press in as you pull them out. (They are in hard and I really gave them some abuse)
Step six, you now have a fully exposed seat back, to fully remove the leather and sponge you might need to remove some plastic trim on the bottom left and right of the seat back.
Step seven, you will now see the cable run from the latch to the lock, I replaced this cable as it was snapped, I assume if yours is now stiff the cable is on its way out and has stretched. I used a standard bike brake cable and fed it through the LR outer then clamped it in place on the lock with a cable lock.
Now you just work backwards and put it all back together, the carpet seat back needs to go on before the leather though.

Just incase you want the part Nºs: centre seat release is HPH500270PVJ and outside seats HPH500260PVJ.

Unfortunately those are not the right parts, they are the straps that make the seat base flip up. This is for the metal cable that flips the seat back down.

Ahh, right. Have looked again and it would appear that they may not come separately, being built-in to the seats back frame. So what you did may be the only way, unless you go for the complete frame i.e. HTF500300 (centre), HTF500051 (Left) or HTF500041 (right)

The cable housing had no JL part numbers on it so I would agree that it must be part of the back/lock.

Got the same problem all 3 have snapped. Seems they are part of the complete assembly so not separate parts. Don't know who makes them or I would approach them. I'm going to try the bicycle wire 'trick', hope it worked for you.
