| Tailgate completed jammed |

As many have experienced, I had the tailgate failing to open.
I made my way in through the interior as many have done. Interestingly, the cable end had not broken, but the actuator did not seem to have the power to pull the cable.
I replaced the latch and shut the tailgate whilst I waited for the actuator to arrive. I left the latch cable accessible in the boot so that I could use it to open the tailgate manually. However, that does not seem to work and so the upper tailgate is completely jammed.
I am at a bit of a loss about what to do next and even considering removing the upper tailgate from the hinges.
Any advice would be welcome.

If the lock mechanism is jammed then removing the hinges will just leave you with the top of the door loose but the lock still locked so you will not be able to take the door out. If you go this route you’ll have to remove the lower hinges as well 😩
Something must have jammed in the lock or fallen in - you basically have to get the lock to release or your stuffed.
