Hello from Germany.
I am interested in a rear spare wheel carrier. Lots of questions about that.
I always see the same 2 or 3 different models in pictures.
What are these called, which ones are on the market?
Which ones have which advantages and disadvantages?
How do the locks differ in their operation?
How do the parking sensors behave? Is there one solution that does not interfere with the sensors?
Can I still see the trailer hitch and corners of the bumper in the reversing camera?
I have the stainless steel loading edge protection, does that harmonize?
Can the carrier be dismantled/removed in a few simple moves/steps?
What else is there to think about?
i've used the search-function, but couldn't find answers for my detailed questions.
Nice weekend everyone!

Hi,
I've tried to answer as best I can, but I'm sure others will be along with better / more experience. Also worth looking in the sales section as someone was selling one in the Netherlands recently. I got mine used so not sure what brand it is, but doesn't match the ones below.
What are these called, which ones are on the market?
As far as I know Terrafirma, Nakatanenga and another one on ebay (not sure on the brand)
How do the parking sensors behave? Mine fouls one of the sensors, but apparently a puncture patch blocks them, just not tried yet.
Can the carrier be dismantled/removed in a few simple moves/steps?
With mine I could undo the nut on top of the spindle and remove it, not sure about other brands. Discovery 4 GS 2009 Auto Stornoway Grey

Easier access, you don't have to crawl under car to get to the spare, especially useful if off road or if you have drawers tools etc covering the 3rd row seats. It also looks cooler, which is the most important benefit!
I managed to get mine used for a really good price £110, cleaned and painted it myself and fitted it myself. As mentioned LR Time made their own so if you have access to the equipment then that's a very viable option. I know it's probably a long shot, but is it feasible to get the used one I put above?
