No doubt a silly question regarding Solar.
Hey all, so I’m looking to add Solar panels to the D3 for keeping the 2nd battery topped up while camping. Based on discussions I’m Looking for a 100w minimum Monocrystalline panel however, what’s the difference between the rigid “panels” and the flexible panels? Both types state the same wattage etc but the flexible ones are half the price.
Are there performance differences? Are the flexible ones not up to the job?
My Wife thinks the D3 is a hobby, The D3 thinks the wife is 💕

Flexible ones are much more convenient but they will under perform Vs rigid due to heat. Solar panels needs to stay cool. Rigid ones have the benefit of airflow beneath them. Performance and lifespan will be affected.
That being said, people get on with Flexi ones plenty enough. If they are literally half the price, I would just take the hit on performance and lifespan for subjectively far better cosmetic appeal. Maybe buy 2. Expect about 60 watt peak into battery from a 100w panel.

question regarding Solar.
I raised a similar thread a couple of months back (but without the technical bits).
Don’t know if you’ll find anything of use here:
