Cruise Control Retrofit MY13
So tried and failed to fit cruise control today/tonight. Think my lack of talent is starting to show- not having much luck at the moment what with my bluetooth still not working
So I bought a D4 wheel of the 'bay with the white horn symbol on the switches just like my setup so thought was good to go. Got my airbag off ok with a homemade removal tool (thanks Martin and WIKI) and swapped parts over. Still no drama - very pleased with myself at this point
Just installed the cruise side first off and once in and battery reconnected I tested the horn which didn't work so I then took battery back off, waiting and then swapped the right side over too as I remember this happening to Justin (Parallex33) back in the day .. .still no horn working and also then on a road test for the CC nothing worked and no lights on dash to say it was on etc.
Below are my CCF updates today - so apart from any obvious misatkes in the CCF, is there a part number for the cruise control part I need to be looking for.
Gutted to be taking apart the wheel for the 3rd time tomorrow - though i'm a dab hand at it now

No, that's wording difference, so looks like you're all set.
But if the horn doesn't work, it's def not going to work.
A customer of mine had Dan send him a variety of switch pack part numbers, 5 I think in total and none of them worked.
I had an older wheel with a predecessor part number and it then worked fine.
If the horn doesn't work, the rest of it usually won't.
You could try taking the switchpacks apart and moving the wiring over on the main board, so your old main board, the new switch cover and that may work as I suspect that it's software revision on the module itself that causes the problem.Bodsys Brake Bible

Thanks bosdy - i'll try that
So I'll use the outer casing of the cruise control with my old GS board inside - the pins certainly match up as I took it all apart when I got it to clean it
Assuming a GS board would work is what got me into all that trouble over my HVAC heated seat update but let's hope this does the trick.
Assume keep current wiring in place as i've not touched that
I've run of time this morning to play around with this, work is getting in the way - will try tonight and report back

The switch gear no - but we're thinking the pcd board that sits inside my GS left hand switch *might* work with a CC Left hand switch ... will update on that when i'm back from London tonight Stolen - D4 Loire Blue

I doubt there will be all that is needed on he board and that the manufacture just puts a blank in the switch case, but happy to be proven wrong, I have taken a few apart for BBS conversions for D3's but not really compared Altox GSM FBH controller thread

Cruise Control operational
Ok all sorted
First point to note when doing this in the evenings is when I think I've swapped the right hand board over double check I haven't put the original back in (I was changing boards within the switches) .
So last night before giving up I had one last look and installed the cruise matching board into right hand side and hey presto it all works and at midnight it was all done and dusted
So make sure if you need to do this both side of the switch packs are the same version if they are not it might not work

So just to clarify, he mainborad from your existing one, add the switches and cover from the new one and all works?
Or you've put a new left and right hand switch pack on to get them to work?Bodsys Brake Bible

Had to match the boards in the switch packs up so yes both sides had to be updated.
Existing main board did not work
I made it more complicated than it needed to be as I took the switches apart as the bought switches on the right side were a bit worn so I used my original casing Stolen - D4 Loire Blue
