Afternoon all,
My 2015 HSE Lux is due its timing belts, I'm assuming I need to get all of the tensioners and all drive belts done at the same time. Can anyone advise on this and expected costs. I may choose to do this myself.

Have read on here a couple of time it can cost the best part of 1k incl all the parts.

DM ... is that the belts etc. part or the whole 7 year service? .

Thought so. Mind you, even if it was the whole lot I'm not sure i could afford the diesel to visit Dundee ! .

Hi, I've done the front belts and tensioners and now I'm trying to summon up the will to do the timed rear belt. How long should I figure in to do this?
It's a shame the designers didn't put a removable plate in the scuttle(?) for access, it's like trying to give someone a hair cut through the letterbox!!

That can depend greatly on the size of your hands and forearms, luckily mine are like a ladies hairdresser's
Mine was done in a few hours, not the worst job I've tackled. Easier than removing the starter e.g. A tip along the way, when you've got the cover off, take it all the way out! I thought I could get the belt off with it still in place back there, but in the end had to cut the belt (and top up the swear jar a few times).

That crossed my mind at a later point of time, yes
I was VERY relieved when the bolt for the tensioner went in straight and true!

Having done both I can honestly say it is no more difficult than changing the heater blender flap actuator on a Ford Fiesta and the later took longer just the consequences are greater if you get it wrong It can when others can't,

How do you make sure that you apply the correct torque to the tensioner bolt on installation ?…..as getting any form of torque wrench in, is very unlikely. Worse still, is if the tensioner bolt sheared off when you went to undo it which has happened to some. D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. RRS front lower suspension arms. New suspension compressor/ relay. New Denso alternator. CuNifer rear brake pipes. New GKN rear propshaft. New HPFP belt & tensioner. New A/C Condenser.NO WARRANTY for many many years.

Experience!- you are very unlikely to shear anything in there as you can’t get the leverage on a 1/4” drive socket. It can when others can't,

+1 on that. If you cut the belt like DM says, your threads will be ok. You could put a bolt in a vice, and try with your torquemeter a few times, utilizing the same lenght as you'll get on your 1/4" wrench. I doubt you'll get as much torque back there due to the space available.
