Britpart Quality (or lack of)

I replaced the NSR door latch recently. In doing so the the exterior handle cap broke (common apparently). I had a look around online and found what I needed in stock at a well known retailer with a name that is quite similar to a sea fish. This part was illustrated sat next to a Land Rover box so I assumed it was a genuine part. When it arrived it was actually a Britpart part in a Britpart box. I wasn't particularly happy so I queried it with the seller. Turns out the Land rover box was for "illustrative purposes only" and there are weasly words in their T & C to that effect. I think it's somewhat dishonest bordering on sharp practice. However, the part looked a reasonable colour match when viewed in the bag so I fitted it. Wish I hadn't; the colour match is not good (my handles are Oberon), much too light. But better yet after one careful washing the paint has fallen off and it looks really scabby!

I'm going to chase this up with the seller as the thing is not of acceptable quality. In the meantime I'll buy a genuine part and will think twice about Britpart in the future and definitely won't be using that particular seller again.

Whinge over!!!!

It's the door handle cap, not the whole thing. The part number is LR018254. Just checked back on
the Craddock website and the picture now shows a Britpart box! As it happens I took a screen grab when I purchased the part, clearly shows a Land Rover box. I'll be contacting them tomorrow...
