Side Step question.
Got round to checking the sidesteps on our D4.
The passenger side is very corroded and will need sort/replacing soon. While looking for replacements of the same style, I found that you can get aftermarket and genuine,, the genuine ones being hundreds of pounds more money..
Has anyone looked at both side by side to compare them. Are the genuine really worth the extra outlay ?
Also, looking at the ones on ours, I cant see anything to say whether they are genuine or not - I guess there would be some part no.s on the genuine.. Although, if on the metal work, will have rusted away.
I'd say aftermarket are good enough and you can replace them 3 or 4 times and still be under LR price..

That is what I was thinking also.
I guess it wouldn't harm to spray some Hammerite Waxoyl on the underneath of them as well, should help keep the rust away for a while.D4 HSE Lux. my 2015 . Mariana Black
