NoX Sensor not attached to DPF

Hi all,

So I just had some warranty work down at Inchcape, Derby.

I got the video from the health check which pointed out the Nox Sensor on the DPF was adrift, as in not screwed in. Is there as issue with those sensors?

No warning lights, just spot around the sensor.

I've searched and saw another post that said his sensor was adrift and it had been cross threaded..

I've asked them not to do it as they have quoted for a new DPF even though they haven't investigated it.. So the quote is £3.5k..

I'm working away this week so won't get a chance to have a look until the weekend.

Just wondered r if it was common for the sensor to come out?

DPF pressure sensor

Usually undone when there is a blocked DPF which wont regen, or undone to clear the light off the dash...

Only option is to refit it, and see what happens...

Just a short update..

So I got the car back, took the tray off, and found the sensor, I cleaned the best I could with a wire brush and refitted, It went in fine and the threads seemed ok.

I was worried as soon as I started it, It would say DPF full or whatever, but it stared and ran fine, done a few hundred miles in it with no issues at all.. I'm still unsure as to why it was out in the first place, but I guess I'll never know.

Going to carry out a forced Regen with my GAP IID anyway just so I know its all clear, then forget all about it hopefully..

Thanks for the help, having a look at the oil leak this weekend...

Strange how it never put the mil lamp on, as that nox sensor would have been well out of its parameters?

I thi k that's my mistake, as mentioned above, I think it was the DPF pressure sensor rather than a NoX sensor..

So it would have been reading low pressure as it wasn't fitted so would have been ~1 bar, so would think the DPF was clean as a whistle..

But no error messages thus far so still very strange why it was out, maybe someone removed it to get to something else? And forgot to replace it.. Ive had the car 18 months, strangely it's been to Inchcape Derby a few times and had a health check, so was either missed or someone has been crawling under my car at night 🤔
