Vibration through the steering wheel
My 16 plate Landmark that had done 100k miles has quite a bad vibration through the steering wheel when I brake. The brake discs look ok so I don't think its warped discs. Had it on a ramp today there is some play in the rear lower wishbone buses, would this be the cause of the problem?

I had similar feal, steering wheel vibration / shacking on braking, mostly after they’d warmed up, swapped the front disks and cured it. My disks looked good but guessing there was only a slight warp that made itself felt when warm.2008 HSE Stornoway Grey

replace the discs and pads
i had bad vibration recently cured with disc swap but also balancing the wheels correctly which added to the issue

Hi,
if your talking about the front lower arms and the rear bush in these arms
then it seems yes they can also give a vibration, I have slight vibe on my 2008 D3 and know the front arms are knocking as well, searched some threads on here and DM had swapped discs already still had the vibe and turned out to be front arms.
front discs are new'ish and with a pointer (not a dti ) they have no run out, so hopefully when arms are done it will cure my brake vibe as well

mine also had play in track rods but only disks swap resolved it so pick and choos wisely

Hi, may be worth checking your front tyres just in case they are not balanced properly. I put new discs all round about five thousand miles ago and all was good, then after a while the steering would wobble under light braking from about fifty miles an hour, I noticed one day that one of the tyres had a screw stuck in it so got it repaired and rebalanced and it cured the wobble.
Noticing the screw in the tyre probably saved me a few quid.

Had the car on the ramp today and had a look at the discs. Nothing obvious but we put a gauge on the discs and there is about a 3 thou movement on the gauge so this could be the problem. So the next step is tp replace the discs. Any recommendation on the brand? The current ones are genuine.

I swapped mine for Terrafirma, good so far and no dust from the pads

I went with Brembos and performance low dust pads all works brilliant so far
