Bluetooth with D4 screen upgrade
Hi all, I have some issue with Bluetooth (phone disconnects and reconnects regularly) sometimes it works ok sometimes I can’t hear my callers etc.
I had this issue to a certain extent before the d4 screen upgrade but it seems worse now. Today for example I could hear the caller but the radio kept playing as well. All a bit random really.
Do I need to upgrade to a d4 Bluetooth or would a software update to my D3 unit help (assuming there is one)….

I’d go D4 unit if you can find one.

how much do you want to spend?
I have ditched the LR on board headhunt and just use wireless apple carplay....not the cheapest solution but its the best thing I've added to mine.

i doubt this will solve your problem with your phone..
i have the same kind of issue..... also with D4 screen and D4 bluetooth in a D3
my work arround:
if i call with my iphone itself, and choose for bluetooth iphone (so NOT LR) most of the time it switches to the LR Bluetooth after half a minute or so and the complete call, even one from an hour, goes perfect with the LR carkit/bluetooth..
incomming almost never a problem, but it has happened.....
swich on iphone bluetooth to iphone and after a short while it reconnects with the LR Bluetooth and everthing perfect from then...
even more annoying is that when listening to AUX (i have a BT streamer device on the aux port) the carkit/ phone seems to dis and reconnect quite often, with i "dip" in the streamed music
tbh did not test it with FM radio or CD because i almost never use them... will give it a try next drive..
it does it with different iphones (tried with a 6 and a 12) and it does it also with different D4 bluetooth units ( tried it with 2)
so is it the D4 screen? or the combination D4 screen with the "older" headunit?
to some here: yes i know, there may be newer headunits from china or elsewere, i do not want that...Best regards

Hi Motolab, it was definitely happening before the D4 screen upgrade. I was getting regular disconnect / reconnect sometimes accompanied by a loud "CRACK" from the speakers. Certainly wakes you up !.

interesting! as i do not remember that, i did the upgrade rather straight after i started to use my D3, so no reference for me...regarding that..Best regards

So bought a D4 unit and then found mine was exactly the same anyway (next time ill check) plugged it in and the iphone 13 still disconnected and reconnects, tried my wifes iphone X and my sons iphone 8 and they were fine. So its clear that this is an iphone 13 issue. Giving up now and just plugging into the aux socket works fine and clear calls. If anyone wants a D4 Bluetooth unit feel free to PM me. !

both my iphone 6 and my iphone 12 Pro max do this exact the same same
once i have a call, it stays connected ,even for the occasionally 2 hour + calls with my girl
but listening to music, both radio, Cd or aux, it cuts out regularly and then display on the headunit (radio) says, phone disconnected...Best regards
