Cam belts interval

Looking at buying a 2005 D3. Being advertised by a dealer as having the belts done but they were done in 2012 at 69k and now it’s 2022 on 118k? Am I correct in thinking they should have been changed again 3 years ago?

Would you recommend them being done straight away along with the oil and water pump?

I would also get the oil pump upgraded as it is most likely the original one that has the weakness in the casing that can fail at anytime. Andrew

I agree with aja4x4.

I would also get the oil pump upgraded for peace of mind & not an enormous incremental cost when changing the belts - £148 inc VAT from froum sponsors Advanced Factors:-
