So I’ve just found my roof glass is cracked and broken at the edge. Not sure how long it’s been like that as I’ve not washed it for while. No way to say what’s caused this but I did notice a small section of a roof clay tile near the car a few weeks ago. Perhaps it fell from the house during the last storm or split from a heavy frost.
So now have to replace it. Oh joy!
Any advise or recommendations please?
I don’t suppose there’s a metal version instead of glass? I have a pro speed rack and am thinking of a roof top tent so glass roof is a little pointless as it’ll been covered.

Best check if your windscreen insurance covers it.
However, most insurance companies will cover front and rear glass, with some covering side windows.
But some do cover panoramic roofs.
A small chance, but worth checking.
I believe it’s a costly job replacing the glass roof (approx £1.5k) from what I’ve heard.
Don’t reckon there’s a metal equivalent, but if there was I too would prefer that to the glass pano roof
As a cheap “fix” dependant on where the crack is, you could always get a body coloured vinyl panel cut and stuck over it (ideal if it covers one of the sections over the cabin), contouring the front edge to match the pano roof front edge.
But this would just be an “out of sight, out of mind” fix. ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧
< ‘tis but a mere scratch …….. it’ll polish out.

Mine has a large crack running from one side to the other, and has been like that for coming on 5 years.
Never leaked or caused any other problems and to tell you the truth, hardly anyone notices it.

Sadly mines more than just cracked, there are two bits that look like they could be lifted out.
Shame about a metal replacement.
I'll call insurance and also I will call my local indy on Monday so see what they can do.

Mine too has been cracked for some time, just awaiting replacement glass as I finally got a chance to sort with the insurers. Not covered under the windscreen policy, so it is a claim on the main policy. With protected no claims bonus, hopefully the impact on renewal will be minimised.
Never had a leak or issue on mine
Good luck getting yours sorted

Had to claim on the main policy when mine went as my insurance didnt cover the panoramic glass. Had to pay the £400 excess at the time. I believe a genuine glass roof is around £750-£800 plus fitting.
Also had to fight to get a genuine version! D4 HSE Lux MY16 Club Waitomo
D3 HSE MY06 missing her still…
