Sat/Nav voice cuts off radio..

Sat/Nav voice cuts off radio..

I'm not sure if this is supposed to happen but whenever the sat/nav makes an announcement the radio or CD cuts off. After the announcement I have to select the FM or CD button to get the music back on. The manual reads as if the voice announcements comes on over the top of the music and that you just select in the menu how much louder this should be.

I'm also experiencing an annoying pitched noise sometimes when the voice comes on, similar to a feedback tone.

Can anyone confirm that any of this is normal? 2005 TDV6 SE Silver/Black Manual + Alpine

No not normal. Should return to the volume before nav cuts in.

Well at least that part of my Infotainment Centre was working! Wink It certainly always just cut over the radio/cd and when the satnav finished pronouncing its instruction the radio came back as normal.
