Miles/days to go to service. Can’t find on display |
|
Trying to find out on 2014 D4 hse how many miles or days to go till next service. Tried it on dash when running and not running. When not running I get a service menu but only options for VIN, oil level and tyre pressures. Surely there maybe a way of checking. I have searched google and on here. All I can see is how to reset. Can anyone assist please. D4 HSE Luxury

Maybe it’s not possible but if it flashes at the point it needs doing I would have thought I could see the count down status? As I say not necessarily.... D4 HSE Luxury

Don't have an option of seeing miles/time to service on mine (MY16), but it does provide a warning , which seems to start at around 1500 miles I believe.
Trouble is, sometimes, in a few days that can halve, despite the number of miles covered, and then next warning can indicate service required (i.e. now). I suspect providing a count down in those circumstances would be difficult to calculate and be meaningless. My advice would be when you get the first countdown warning to book it in for a service for some time in the next month.
One thing to look out for is when the service reset by the dealer doesn't work or isn't done, this may lead you to get, what appear to be, spurious warnings (early warnings).
cheers Gary

''service required'' should pop up when you start up the ignition but dont think it says a time/days until its due
it only pops up for a couple of seconds then disappears until you next start up the car. 2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

This has only started in the last few days, never seen it before. I have a 2.7 TDV6 GS and I have no menu option to see service. The car was serviced only a few months ago when I purchased it so not a warning that I would be expecting so soon.
Thanks

Most likely whoever did the service didn't reset the indicator correctly

I was told sometimes the reset doesn't work by a land rover dealership (actually not the one that did the service). So would imagine it either wasn't reset or the reset didn't work. On my model it can request a service early due to oil dilution. That is generally caused by lots of short journeys. Not sure if that is possible on your model.
Cheers Gary

Thanks
I decided to give the car a service and a health check and now all as expected.
