Jumpered connector above rh headlight
Hi all. I recently picked up a 2005 LR3 V8 HSE. Being 17 years old, it has some "interesting" modifications... One is a connector above the rh headlight, jumpered with a paperclip. I'm trying to identify what this connector is for so I can fix the issue.
Any thoughts?

It's for the 'hood open' switch.

Most likely the original problem has been that the alarm has gone off randomly. The previous owner has done that “temporary fix” to rectify the problem by having the vehicle pretend that the hood is always closed.

Thanks for the replies. Yup, soon as I plugged it back in and locked the car, the alarm went off. Time for a new latch module....
