fuel gauge fault
So I've got the infamous fuel gauge fault, whereby it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. I guess it's the connections inside the tank, which seems to be the usual issue. But is it really necessary to drop the tank to fix it? It just seems like an easy job made much more difficult due to access. I just wondered if some enterprising person might have been able to make a hole in the boot to access it and then fabricated a cover for the hole. It's a 2010 D4.

Thanks for that. I guess that's a no to doing it without dropping the tank. Frankly, I'm getting a little too stiff and crinkly to do a job like this, so I guess it'll be into a garage at some stage.
