Lower Tail switch not opening tail gate

Dear all,

I have a lower tail gate issue. It will not open with the switch. The switch seems to be ok but i still ordered a new one. In the tail gate no obvious wiring damage. There is no voltage on the plugs of the actuators on the two sides. Is there a circuit breaker in system that i dont know Big Cry Big Cry

Thanks for your inputs.

Hi Robert,

Might be worth having a look at my post a few down from this one.
I had a fault with the upper tailgate but it works the same as bottom switch.
Garry kindly put up some wiring diagrams that will be worth looking at.
First thing first, have you got 12v on one of your switch wires(the one that comes from the CJB).

Hi guys,

Replaced the switch today and the tail was working a couple of times and than died again. Any suggestions.

Might be worth checking both the cables going to the switch as far down the loom as you can see. Mine had a slight nick in it about 4 inches from the terminals although my fault was on the upper tailgate. Seems odd yours worked a few times.
