So turned out it was the glow plug in my FBH.
I bought a second hand unit of eBay yesterday. Swapped out the burner unit part, as rest of mine was clean and serviced. Froze the ambient sensor this morning and it started up. Not too much smoke and burned brilliantly.
How can something so minor make you feel so happy! lol
Typically the weather now is mild 
So next step is to fit either a 1533 timer or a remote fobbed switch.
